Advantage Capital Partners Adds New Senior Vice President; Promotes Eight Team Members

ADVANTAGE CAPITAL PARTNERS ADDS NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT;
PROMOTES EIGHT TEAM MEMBERS

ST. LOUIS, April 15th, 2013 – Advantage Capital Partners, a leading venture capital and small business finance firm, is proud to announce the addition of a new senior vice president and an analyst as well as the internal promotions of several key staff members in St. Louis, New Orleans and New York.

In St. Louis, Daniel Gould has joined the firm as a senior vice president in portfolio management. Mr. Gould joins the firm with more than 20 years of operational experience and was previously the partner at two management consulting firms. Mr. Gould received his master’s degree in health administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia and his bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in English from Truman State University.

Ben Warning joins Advantage Capital as an investment team analyst in the St. Louis office. A recent graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance, he will initially focus on assisting the portfolio management and underwriting teams.

St. Louis Promotions:

Ray Wagner has been promoted to senior associate. A member of the firm’s investment group since 2009, Mr. Wagner is responsible for providing due diligence, credit underwriting and valuation analysis of the firm’s prospective investments across the Midwest and Southeast. Mr. Wagner holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, managerial economics and strategy, and entrepreneurship from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University.

Jay Bennett, a member of Advantage Capital’s small business lending division BizCapital, is being promoted to vice president/business development officer. Mr. Bennett joined BizCapital in 2012 and continues to support the business development needs of the firm’s government-guaranteed lending operations, generating SBA and USDA loans in underserved communities.

New Orleans Promotions:

Justin Obletz has been promoted to principal. As a member of the firm’s investment team since 2006, Mr. Obletz is responsible for deal flow screening, due diligence and portfolio company monitoring in the New Orleans office. He received his M.B.A. from Darden School at the University of Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.

Franchesca Lorio is being promoted to senior vice president/controller. Ms. Lorio joined the firm in 2002 and provides leadership in all aspects of the firm’s accounting and financial management. She graduated cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

S. Talmadge Singer II, promoted to senior vice president, joined the firm in 2007. He supports the firm’s capital raising transactions, national expansion efforts, securities issues and government relations. Mr. Singer graduated from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University and earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Louisiana State University.

Mary Beth Maygarden has been promoted to compliance manager. Ms. Maygarden joined the firm in 2009 and is responsible for maintaining compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations applicable with the firm’s investment operations. She received her M.A.in humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas and her bachelor’s degree in medieval studies and history from Tulane University Newcomb College Institute, where she graduated cum laude.

Samantha Wilson is being promoted to associate. Ms. Wilson plays a key role in the firm’s communications, public relations and marketing efforts. She received her bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in marketing from Tulane University.

New York Promotion:

Reid Hutchins is being promoted to principal. Mr. Hutchins joined the firm in 2006 and manages the New York investment portfolio. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from St. Lawrence University, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s in engineering management from Dartmouth College.
