Community Impact

Advantage Capital Partners was founded in 1992 with a mission to generate superior investment returns while bringing businesses, technologies and jobs to communities that have historically lacked access to investment capital.

In partnership with state and federal economic development programs, we have invested more than $1.7 billion; helped to create more than 27,000 jobs; and facilitated the flow of more than $8.6 billion in follow-on capital into the companies and regions where we invest.

To date, we have invested in more than more than 500 companies located in underserved communities in 15 states.

In states where we have dedicated our resources, entrepreneurs and small business advocates speak to their experiences:

Maida_coleman “I started my engineering business out of my basement. I now employ 28 professionals, have a new state-of-the-art office space, and recently acquired a surveying group that will help us continue to grow our business. We are now able to compete for and win valuable contracts for projects that improve the communities where we live and work.”

—Vicki S. LaRose, PE, President of Civil Design, Inc., St. Louis, named “Missouri Small Business Person of the Year” by the U.S. Small Business Administration, 2012

Maida_coleman“Advantage Capital has a great track record of knowing where these dollars need to go, and what organizations need to be funded.”

—Former Missouri State Senator Maida Coleman

Maida_coleman “When we have capital that can come in from outside to partner with local banks, regional banks, that minimizes the risk for local business people and it makes the citizens of the town excited, confident that maybe we can do this, maybe this place can turn around.”

—Ed Johnson, Founder/CEO, Bambootility Media, LLC; former CEO, Delta Economic Development Center, Greenville, Mississippi
