New leaders strengthen investor solutions, energy finance, and tax credit capital formation capabilities
ST. LOUIS, May 19, 2026 – Advantage Capital today announced the addition of Andrew Young and Scotty Barter as Vice Presidents within the firm’s growing Capital Markets team, further strengthening its investor solutions, energy finance capabilities, and cross-platform capital formation strategy.
The appointments reflect Advantage Capital’s continued emphasis on building institutional capital relationships and expanding the firm’s ability to deliver innovative financing solutions across energy development, transferable tax credits, and other impact-oriented investment strategies.
“Andrew and Scotty each bring unique expertise, leadership, and market credibility that will strengthen our service to investors and scale our capital platform,” said Talmadge Singer, Managing Director, Advantage Capital. “As investor demand for differentiated tax-advantaged and impact investment opportunities continues to grow, their experience will be instrumental in advancing our strategy.”
Young joins Advantage Capital with deep experience as an attorney and regulatory executive across the energy and infrastructure sectors. As Vice President at Advantage Capital, he will leverage his background to expand the firm’s focus on energy and infrastructure-related opportunities while also supporting Advantage Capital’s broader capital markets strategy across its business lines.
Before joining Advantage Capital, Young served as Executive Director of the Office of State Resources at the Louisiana Department of Conservation and Energy and as a member and Secretary of the State Mineral and Energy Board. In those roles, he oversaw energy development across Louisiana’s seven-plus-million-acre land portfolio and helped shape development and regulatory policy across the Louisiana energy landscape, advising legislators, regulators, and industry leaders on emerging energy initiatives.
Barter joins Advantage Capital with more than a decade of banking, capital markets, and client advisory experience. As Vice President within Capital Markets, Barter will focus on investor relations and transaction execution across the firm’s energy and broader tax credit investment platforms.
Most recently, Barter served as Executive Director at J.P. Morgan, where he led relationship management and business development efforts for healthcare and higher education clients. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he spent more than eight years with Truist Financial, where he supported credit origination, portfolio management, and strategic client advisory initiatives.
“These additions further position Advantage Capital to meet growing investor demand,” said Anne Johnson, Managing Director, Advantage Capital. “We’re building a team capable of connecting institutional investors with high-impact opportunities that generate both financial and community returns.”
