Sandra was also selected to be featured on the magazine’s cover, underscoring the significance of this well-earned honor.

The Business 500 highlights leaders whose work drives growth, innovation, and long-term vitality across business, civic, and nonprofit sectors. Inclusion on this list reflects not only professional achievement, but sustained influence, credibility, and commitment to the region. Sandra’s recognition places her among a distinguished group of individuals helping to define St. Louis’ economic future.

Throughout her career, Sandra has been a powerful force for progress at the intersection of public service, nonprofit leadership, and impact investing. She has helped mobilize and deploy capital to expand opportunity, strengthen communities, and deliver measurable outcomes—work that has shaped neighborhoods, supported job creation, and advanced economic growth. Prior to joining Advantage Capital, Sandra spent nearly 15 years as President of Urban Strategies and has held senior leadership roles across civic and public-sector institutions, building a legacy rooted in collaboration and results.

In her current role as Chief Impact Officer at Advantage Capital, Sandra leads the firm’s national impact investing strategy, ensuring that capital is deployed in ways that generate both financial performance and meaningful community benefit. Her leadership reflects a deep belief that economic growth should be intentional and sustained—and that businesses can and should play a central role in solving complex community challenges.

“I’m deeply honored to be included in St. Louis Magazine’s Business 500 and grateful for the many colleagues, partners, and communities who have shaped my journey, ” said Sandra. “This recognition is not about one individual—it reflects the collective work of people committed to expanding opportunity and building stronger communities. I’m proud to do this work alongside the incredible team at Advantage Capital and so many dedicated leaders across St. Louis.”

Sandra’s recognition reinforces Advantage Capital’s approach to funnel capital to places it doesn’t naturally flow—driving economic growth, strengthening communities, and supporting entrepreneurs and businesses that create lasting impact. Advantage Capital is honored to celebrate this achievement and proud of the leadership Sandra brings to our firm and to the communities we serve every day.
